Club Facilities

Hereford Rowing Club

Hereford Rowing Club provides members with the all important social meeting place. The comfortable lounge, bar and function room provide a relaxing atmosphere to meet.

The Rowing Club premises are also used for training, monthly committee meetings and our larger social functions.

The club meets socially every Wednesday evening from 8.30pm. It is free parking, there is a lift available with disabled access, conveniences and a great views across the river.

You are welcome to pop in any Wednesday or one of us can come down and meet you, if walking in is not easy for you.

We assure you of a warm and friendly welcome.

Hereford Leisure Pool

Hereford Leisure Pool is booked for our sole use every Wednesday between 7:30-8:30pm. During this time you can swim, snorkel, dive or spectate. We offer try dives, snorkel lessons, complete BSAC training or some use the time to test or practice with new equipment in a supervised environment.

All club members are welcome to attend either for a family or fitness swim, or just a leisurely splash in relative calm  compared to the public swimming sessions.

All the pool costs are all covered by our club subscriptions and this includes use by your immediate family members.

You are welcome to pop in any Wednesday to see what is going on and meet some of our members.

Occasionally after our pool session we may head over to the Rose and Crown in Ledbury Road or Hereford rowing club for a de-brief or celebration.

Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB)

HSAC proudly has 1 Osprey Viper 5.95m Rigid Inflatable Boat commonly known as a RIB.

We were fortunate to have been awarded a small National Lottery grant in 1996 which part funded the RIB which we use most weekends during the diving season.

Club funds are allocated to the maintenance, servicing and upkeep of the boats to ensure they are kept in excellent condition and sea worthy. Our RIB is fitted with 150HP outboard engines, GPS navigators, depth sounders, digital radios, first aid and oxygen administration equipment. We have 2 committee members who take a special interest ensuring the RIB's are serviced and maintained correctly.

Club members are encouraged to pass the RYA Level 2 Power Boat, these courses are usually run twice a year. Once qualified and with supervised practice you can cox'n the RIB's on our many dive trips. We also run chart work, navigation and general boat maintenance workshops throughout the season.

As a club we predominately dive most weekends however we have many members who work shifts, so we also dive weekdays as well. This is generally organised via email 'Anyone free on…' with enough suitably qualified and experienced people the RIB's can be taken out anytime, weather and tide dependant.

Compressor

As a busy dive club we have our own air compressor which has both A-clamp and Din fittings. This investment has enabled us to provide all our members with free air fills to a maximum of 232 Bar. This is economical and convenient  to all our members and it is serviced and maintained from club funds

Compressor Operation courses are run by qualified club members on an as required basis. This is a requirement before you can use the club compressor independently.

Scuba Equiptment

HSAC has 6 complete Aqua Lungs that are available for use by trainees who are enrolled on our diving courses. Equipment is signed out on an individual basis and security deposits taken. Deposits are refunded on completion of your course and return of all equipment. Members can also borrow kit if it is available and we have cylinders for club use. We have an Equipment Officer who maintains and keeps track of our kit and servicing.

We run as a club, so in the beginning we can all appreciate diving is not necessarily the cheapest hobby to start. Kit is often lent, borrowed or shared. Some members sell, trade and exchange kit to reduce your costs and if your short of something, someone usually has a spare to share.
